How to Apply for a new PAN Card Online

Generally PAN (Permanent Account Number) is mandatory for every tax payers in India but now a days people are using PAN card as a identification document purpose also.So many people are applying for new PAN card daily through a third person like any accountant or local agents etc. So Income Tax Department makes it simple by offering online application in some simple steps.Following steps are –

1. Go to Income Tax Pan Service Unit‘s website https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan/ .

2. This is the Income Tax Pan Service Unit’s Home Page.He you will found many options –

a) New PAN for Indian Citizens (Form 49A)

b) New PAN for Foreign Citizens (Form 49AA)

c) Changes or Correction in PAN details

d)Reprint of PAN Card

e)Transaction Status Enquiry

f)Status Track for PAN Application

3.Now you have to chose first one as you are applying for new PAN Card.Click on New PAN for Indian Citizens (Form 49A),then select individual and it will open form 49A.Fill the for by getting help from do’s & don’ts for new pan application.

4.After filling up the form 49A you have to submit it online and have to pay a money of Rs. 96 /- by choosing payment option like Internet Banking /Debit Card/Credit Card/Demand Draft/Cheque .If you chose Cheque or Demand Draft then you have to send it to IT Pan Service office.

5.After successfully submission you will got an 15 digit acknowledgement no .Now take a print out of the acknowledgement page for further process on application of new pan card.

6.After taking print out ,you have to take a Xerox of  two documents a) Proof of Address b)Proof of Identity  and also two recent colour passport size photograph.Here you have check two thing before applying online –Name written in Identity Proof and Name to be put in Form 49A should be same.

7.Paste photo in the printed form and  also sign in appropriate place.

8. After completing all above process you have to send it to NSDL Pune by Speed Post.(Please send within 15 days of online application)

9.Now you can click on option no f)for Status Track for Pan Application.Generally it takes 30 days.
